The most common method of sale in Western Australia where a property is advertised ‘For Sale’ and buyers attend home opens or private viewings of the property. The agent then negotiates a successful sale with both seller and buyer. Home opens shorten the number of marketing days by allowing more buyers to inspect the property at one time. Most other methods of sale are based around Sale by Private Treaty and simply use different marketing strategies to achieve the best outcomes for a particular property. Simple examples are Expressions of Interest where no price is advertised so the property is not restricted by price. Some sellers want to achieve a fast sale so having a Date Set to present offers gives urgency to buyers to make an offer.
